SPOTLIGHT
  1. CRO MEETS INDUSTRY 2012 exhibit was held on December 14th. Researchers, biotech companies, business and community leaders came together for a day of collaboration, bench-to-bedside creativity, and real-world novel applications. Programme.

  1. STARTUP OPPORTUNITY @Pordenone Fiere. Two research groups from CRO Aviano translated life science innovation into professional business plans (Onco-Target and D4D) to join the brand new entrepreneurial competition (Punto di Incontro, 8-9 November 2012). Ready Chemio team delivered an Elevator Pitch.
  1. TR35-YOUNG INNOVATORS. Competition for the best ideas of applied research developed in Italy, with relevant potential for the creation of technology based companies. Awarded projects will be presented during the 2013 edition of the Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum. Details.

Start-up activity at CRO is key in promoting regional economic development.
It has raised more than 2 million euros since 2006.
The Technology Park of Pordenone hosts entrepreneurial initiatives based on CRO Aviano novel technologies.
 
PharmaDiagen
First Italian spin-off addressed to fight cancer through pharmacogenetics.
R&D intensive SME, PharmaDiagen S.r.l. produces devices predictive of response to antitumor drugs based on patients' individual genetic profile (pharmacogenetic Kits) and ICT-based tools with genetic information that help clinicians choose proper drugs and doses (pharmacogenetic Cards).
Unique example within Italy's National Health Service of a high-tech oriented company with an ownership share held by a public research organisation or hospital.
Winner of the 2009 START CUP business plan competition.
 
SediciDodici
Spin-off company founded by CRO researchers and local entrepreneurs to bring advanced technologies for the assessment of haemostasis on the market. Sedicidodici S.r.l. and the National Cancer Institute CRO Aviano signed an agreement to further develop the Smart Clot device. Patents in the field of diagnosis and pharmacological monitoring of thrombotic, ischemic and hemorragic pathology.
